Few Minor Updates

I updated the custom user splash screen patch (FS#7538) last night and am working to fix the problem with the Filetype Array Full error (I thought I fixed it, but there were problems).

I also added FS#7565, which adds support for the TPA tag. Â It's a one line patch, so I can't see how there'd be any problems caused by it.

Added FS#7538 (Custom user splash screen)

I'm thinking of adding FS#7538, which will allow users to modify the splash screen/boot logo. Users would place a bitmap named splash.bmp into the .rockbox directory to override the default boot logo. The patch is new, but there's some talk on IRC about it being added to the official build. In addition, the patch seems to be getting updated every few hours, with minor improvements that will help prevent boot time from slowing down.

UPDATE:Â Added

FS7539 Added

Added FS7539, which moves all the database files into their own directory.

Filetype array full

I noticed yesterday that on startup, it says Filetype array full. This shouldn't cause any problems at the moment, as it simply means viewers.config has reached the max limit. I'm hoping to increase that limit this evening.

First post

So I had an extra domain available, so I figured I'd use it for my Rockbox branch. Maybe at some point I'll move the patches list over and modify Wordpress to work the way I want, but I'll be also adding updates here. I'm planning on rewriting the script to get Rockbox to update, because currently the connection seems to be getting reset, and I need to update manually. I have daily backups of the build available, so I'm going to be creating a basic script for getting them. I'll have copies of all the downloads on here as well, in the event of DNS issues with either of the domains.

Currently, I'm working on coding in C++, which seems to give me at least some details on how to fix any problems that come up when updating the build, as well as some information on adding new features.

Due to some issues that happened, I'm probably going to be updating this blog more than the thread on ABi, but I will do my best to update both. I'm not going to stop you from asking questions about why, but I will say that I may not be willing to answer some or all of your questions.

I'll probably be checking this blog as much, if not more, than ABi, and am thinking of also making threads on the Rockbox forum and Lodist (note to Administrators/Moderators on both ABi/Lodist - I am not linking to either site currently, though I am thinking of adding links to each of the threads, but I therefore currently am not breaking any rules...not to mention the link to the opposite forum is not being directly linked to from your forum) and eventually may create a way to make it easier for users to request patches.
