Here's a final hint before I start telling a few people the link. I need testers
As I've said, it's in the source. However, it's not in the page source. It's the 10th line from the top of the source. Click a certain link available on any page to reveal the source. The source does not contain any HTML. Viewing the page source is not required to find the link to the source, nor is right clicking required.
If I'm thinking clearly, that should cause you to be left with only one source. However, I'm not going to tell what kind of source it is, though it's updated often.
Alright, since the post information is being stored, and I need a few people to test it, I figured I'd give out a few hints tonight.
The link the the personalized build page is in a link, that is in a link available from every page:
Home -> Click certain link -> See link to personalized build page.
The "Click certain link" link is available on every page.
Check the source.
Those three should be enough to find the page, even without any other hints.
So far, nobody has found the link to the personalized build page, even after all the hints. I'm going away for the weekend (I have internet access though) but if nobody can find the link by Friday night, I'll post a (hopefully) big hint.
In addition, the page now posts properly, and, though not cleaned up, it does post enough information for me to compile the build. It wouldn't be automatic yet, but the build could still be compiled. I do need testers though ![]()
Making a little progress on the form for the personalized builds. Since I'm sure a few want to test it, I've included a link to it on the site, but it's hidden
I will say that it can be found from any page, but I won't say more than that until there's more progress.
EDIT: Alright, I did say more ;). More clues can be found on the ABi thread: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13590&page=60 (near the bottom, and more on the following page)
Well, I've got a small add on the site now. Not entirely thrilled about adding it, but oh well. At least these are a little more contextual than what I used (for about 15 minutes) a week ago - it was displaying ads about registry cleaners and stuff. Like that's real helpful...
Also, there's a link on the right that was added a few days ago, "Contact". Doesn't need to be used all the time, but useful if you need to get a hold of me.
The auto update is back, and should start working on the next SVN update. There's now a dedicated account, as well as a dedicated subdomain, for starting the update process. The domain should be easy to guess (update.chrisjs.com) but I've added a lot of checks to it to prevent any attempted updates except by the mail server. I plan to watch the resource usage on it to make sure that nothing goes wrong, otherwise I'll have to possibly disable the auto update, or find another way to trigger it.
I'm finally done with midterms, so I can start getting back to work, mainly personalized builds. I have tomorrow off, so I should be able to make some decent progress.
Someone in the ABi forums mentioned that the site I used to use (nuclearscripting.com) no longer is fetching the build. Turns out my host renamed that directory because of it using too many resources.
And apparently they were right:
drpepper: 03:53 PM# uptime
15:53:03 up 17 days, 18:12, 7 users, load average: 13.59, 13.48, 13.85
to what it is now:
drpepper: 03:57 PM# uptime
15:57:49 up 17 days, 18:17, 7 users, load average: 4.64, 8.13, 11.45
After checking logs, I don't blame them:
The past few days, the number of cpu seconds has gone from about 70-ish to 10,000 for two days, and 20,000 today! Considering that site isn't even the main one, something bad went wrong. Even on this site, the number of cpu seconds is a constant 500. Bandwidth doesn't appear too bad, but PHP seems to have gone insane on that user.

I'm sure most of that doesn't mean much to quite a few users, but basically, something happened on the backup site that would have caused major delays had it not been noticed. The backup site will stay down until I can figure out what happened.
After my wireless connection dropping five times, and having a bunch of sim errors, the build has finally compiled. Most of my custom patches (Video/Games/Ebooks/Photos menus, along with the ability to hide them; Version change; Boot logo change) are not in the build yet, but it appears that most of the bugs are fixed. If anyone finds any problems, let me know.
The rebuild is almost complete (I hope). This will hopefully fix all the problems that there were before, such as data aborts and WPS problems. I hope to have it done within 20 minutes, but it will most likely take longer.
