Change Keymaps?

Some people are complaining how they don't like the new keymap that was added two days ago. Since it's been two days now (hopefully enough to see if people will like it) I'm going to ask this: Who would prefer if I roll back the keymap to the way it was before?

Yes, please.
The new keymap is rather annoying.

I have a feeling most/all people will want it to be reverted, but I'll wait until tomorrow to make the change.

I personally like the new layout better, but I'd be OK with it going back. So I'd vote to stay with the new layout, but I'd keep with your build either way.

I like the new layout. It is only a question of time to get used to it.

New layout seems fine to me ... just different, but just as good.

I prefer old keymap too, but i have a question. Where is submenu in file browser (in new keymap). I can't find this when eg. I want to create new directory. BTW new builds are very instabile. Eg. I'm listening music and suddenly it stops, but the player "says" that he's still playing.

It's good but the power buttong working as stop button is very annoying. But I'd still go back for the old one.

I'm not going to vote, but if anyone else would like to voice your opinion, feel free.

sic-ever: "BTW new builds are very instabile. Eg. I'm listening music and suddenly it stops, but the player "says" that he's still playing." - What version is the build? That sounds like the playback bug that's been around for a while, but should have been fixed.

So that's the problem! I thought I was going mad. I've used it a lot today and I reckon I'm getting used to it. Where can I get a list of the changes. Can't work out context sensitive menu. Add to playlist etc.

On a side note, I'm also having the issue where a song stops playing half way through.

Keep up the good work Chris. Rockbox and in particular your build have helped make my sansa the best mp3 player I've had by a long way!

It was version from 05-11.

Why have we got to create another virtual button when there is a perfectly good one on the player.
This change I think is unnecessary and complicates what is a brilliant player. Please, Please, Please can I have the old layout back.

I was gonna say that this new keymap sucked, but then I figured out how to use it:) . I think you should add a button config patch so people can make their own keymaps the way they like it.
thanks!

I'd be all for having a patch to make it the way you like it, but I dunno if I'd easily be able to do that. Either that or a way to switch keymaps, which could (possibly) be easier.

I've finally recompiled a new build with the new keymap. For me, it's fine. For the way I use the player, it actually seems easier in many ways.

Hi Chris...You can revert to the old keymap by rebuilding the source and exchanging the new /aps/keymap/e200.c for the old one from the source of 04/11/2007 (the last before the keymap change). My knowledge of the build stops here as I assume that the keymap config is now incorporated into the rockbox.mi4 Would it be possible to create two versions of this file the old and new and make either selectable from the cfg file at boot?

I am planning to revert the keymaps.

Having separate rockbox.mi4 files would mean two builds would need to be compiled, which isn't feasible only to have different keymaps.
